Terrapin Flyer is a Chicago-based Grateful Dead tribute band formed in 1999. For more than 25 years the band has been a fixture of the national music scene, known for faithful yet adventurous interpretations of Grateful Dead classics — blending tight musicianship with free-flowing improvisation and a deep reverence for jazz, blues and bluegrass. Long-term collaborations with Dead legends Melvin Seals, Vince Welnick and Tom Constanten earned the band a spot in Rolling Stone's "Guide to the Grateful Dead," and every performance is built to feel like a true Dead show.
